Problems Addressed by
CheckMate Programming
"a revolution in CMM programming"
- Inspection lead time is causing delays
- Measurement seems like the slowest part of the process
- We have to develop the same inspection path twice, once for the
tooling & again for the part
- CMM programs aren't ready when tooling arrives
- We have so many parts to program, how are we ever going to get them
done on time?
- Writing CMM programs is a bottleneck in our operation
- Our CMM is at or near capacity and we are considering buying
another one
- We can't read the 3D CAD data our customers are sending us for CMM
checking
- We need to confirm the orientation of our parts in space matches
the 3D CAD model
- We have several makes of CMM but we can't quickly assign any part
to any machine
- It takes too much time to change an inspection program to run on a
different CMM
- If an inspection program is written on the wrong side of material,
we have to start all over
- If our customer wants an inspection reported on the other side of
material, we have to start all over
- If our customer wants an inspection reported in tool or part
coordinates, we have to start all over
- Our parts are too large to be learn mode programmed
- Our parts are too small to be learn mode programmed
- We can't accurately measure areas of high curvature when they are
out of position
- We can't accurately measure holes and slots on sculptured surfaces
- We can't accurately measure trim/hem/rope edges
- We can't accurately measure thin walled material
- It is taking too long to 'trig' approach vectors from a mylar or
blueprint
- Our measuring process lacks the consistency required by ISO/QS9000
- We need to convert CMM programs from one language to another
