Suppressed Hécate II's in hand my men would wear ghillie suits to hide, night vision goggles for... night vision, bandoliers of ammunition so they don't run dry in the midst of battle, combat boots, and as a sidearm they'd have laser pistols.

I would love to have some ATACS camo shirt and pant, Boots too if you can. This camo works so well in urban, jungle, and desert. I wouldnt have it any other way. I trust myself with an M4A1 Suppressed and the old 1911. Cheers! :-)

I would outfit my troops with Camaleon High-Tech (not released yet in real life) tactical camouflage. This will allow troops to infiltrate enemy base without being detected on the battlefield. Expensive, but worth it.

standard military camo. heads up display built into the sunglasses for life support monitoring and such. some kind of gun with a round between a 5.56 and 7.62 and doesn't suffer from the cons of either. 5.56 being weaker than a 7.62 and the 7.62's limited range before the bullet starts tumbling.

My ideal military equipment would be a forest camouflage jacket and bdu pants. over the jacket would be a black tactical vest that would be used to store extra equipment. I would also have a forest camouflage helmet with a pare of vision enhancing shooters glasses and a tac com headset. What we have that puts us apart is the blue armbands we wear with out units insignia!

Design for our outfit huh? Well in accordance with our platoon logo, We have to be in orange full plate armour. the helmet can have a green feathered Mohawk. To be practical a little bit, instead of chain mail underneath, it'll be actual body armour and such. 1 of the squad will be a bannerman, so he shall carry the big pole with our logo on it. With the decreased mobility of all of the life saving armour, the soldiers are at risk of being shot too much and scratching the paint on their beautiful armour. To fix this, they shall use roller-skates just like our dinosaur. This will dramatically improve mobility, speed in urban environments.

Just some typical blackout, whiteout and brownout gear, with a few camo accessories, ghillie suit and night vision and high power ballistic scopes would work for me... As long as I have an m107, fn2000, some .17 rifle for plinking, and remington 870 with all guns having a few bandoliers in the camo rucksack and relative ammo on my person at the time. Survival gear as necessary.

Nothing but a military watch with the option for invisibility, powered by an arc reactor. In line, the troops will stand motionless, facing directly forward at all times. I don't know about you, but that'd scare me quite a bit: naked soldiers, equipped with chestplates, staring forward almost as clones. I would have my troops wear camo invisible in the terrain they are fighting in. Helmets with night vision capabilities so they can see at night to take down the enemy just as effective as during the day. They would have protective gear like knee and elbow pads. They would all have headsets built into the helms so they can stay in constant communication with each other. They would have all the gagets and gizmos needed to take down everything they need or penatrate any command center they come across on there tactical belts and uniforms. Snipers would have Ghillie suits and all would have bulletproof vests on. Also if they was wearing the camo that was designed for the terrian they were in they would get a small bonus to cover or visibilty. Like desert camo in Firestorm would make it harder to spot my troops.

If we were in an arid desert area such as the middle east, I would find it more helpful to have collaberations of my men in civilian gear that can employ tactical, unconventional warfare at any moment and strike the hardest, quickest, and leave a traumatizing scare in the threat of not simply physically but emotionally straining them until they're simply too scared [the enemy that is] to reckon who is who amongst their people.
However, typically, there is a time where clear uniformity is needed and so, all I can simply beckon is there needs to be a universal camoflauge consisting of the three core key colors, those being, green, shaded with black, beige and tan. With a mixture of such, a strewn amount of camos could be produced that work in night environments, jungle/forest/silva [thick vegetation] - and desert, arid, dry, cornwell. Snow too, is even included in this and as such, these camos could be employed in the ocean too.
Gear. While each soldier needs to be kempt, they also need perfect protection that's flexible yet maintains shape under heavy abuse and is able to be moved in properly for allowing quick mobility yet hearty protection. Kevlar, clearly, is one of the best out there. Hard, durable, tough yet flimsy. Dragonskin is typically layered on the outside as it can be dyed materially with camo too and catches sweat. On the inside of kevlar however, are to be found, is trauma plates.
These plates are lined with tiny pressure normalizers and shock absorbers which are a must-must for ANY sort of body armor. The essentials must be covered, that being:

-Thighs/Legs

Well lets see, im going to assume its a forest tree type setting. So soldiers will be wearing a woodland BDU, with kevlar body armor (of course), black boots, tactical gloves, either wearing a kevlar helmet, boonie, baseball hat, or a bandana. They also will have a radio headset, a beard (if can grow one), a military tactical knife hanging from either the shoulder or the hip and some knee pad for the hell of it. Snipers will get a woodland ghille suit, their choice of wanting kevlar body armor on or not, black boots, tactical gloves, radio headset, and a military tactical knife hanging from either the shoulder or the hip.
If for other environment just change the camo but keep the rest the same, unless it calls for change.
If we were like 20 years into the future, instead of a woodland BDU, I would equip them with camouflage suits that changes to its environment, like a chameleon. That would be pretty sick right there.

Silk tshirt and underwear, silk and wool blend knee high socks (silk is great for keeping you dry and minimizing chafing); full body kevlar; solid black BDU uniform with black jump boots and black balaclava;`ultra light pack with the rest of the necessities like food, butane stove, a few cooking implements, a couple of energy powders for emergencies, water sanitation tablets, a basic first aid kit with antiseptic, needles and thread, scissors, epinephrine, and benadryl. On my belt I would want both CS tear gas and military issue pepper spray. In my boot would be my 6inch toothpick and I would be set. I love guns as much as the next girl, but I also know that guns can give you a false sense of security. With or without a gun you have to be on your toes. Without a gun, you learn to walk a little quieter, hunt a little more stealthily, and even sleep a little lighter. No crime in surviving, even if that survival requires you to leave the battle & plan for another day.

My soldier would be high tech. His helmet would have built in cameras for all directions. His pants and shirt would be "active camo", in which the mounted cameras would display the opposite side on the camo making the soldier mostly invisible. He would have a back pack that contained electronics for live battlefield conditions and real time communications. Even his gloves would go a little longer and contain a lcd which can act as a monitor, keyboard, or touch mouse. He could also use voice commands into his headset.

Full metal armor, titanium-steel alloy, with flex-points at the abdomen and joints. The armor would be integrated with stealth technology, as well as a HUD on the visor. The boots and leg-guards would have shock-absorbing technology built in to allow one to jump from significant heights without much damage. The main weapons would be the Barrett REC7 or XM8 for assault teams, and the APO M24E1 or Thor M408 for sniper teams. Side arms for both would most likely be either the Talon II or Nighthawk GCP. Of course, you can't forget your fragmentation grenades and C-4 plastic explosives. Some units will also be equiped with XM25 CDTE's and AT4's for explosive power at a range.

I would cover myself in new iPad Retina Displays on the front and back of my suit, they would be connected with Skype and the front facing camera would give an image to the back of the suit, so it would be a less expensive version of the Nano suit, not quite military grade, but I would somewhat blend in with my surroundings. MY soldiers would be outfitted in navy camo, yellow duck floaties with green flippers. They would also ride on whales and use seagulls as their MAV's. Depends on what enviroment your in, I would use camo BDU's, a bullet proof fest, combat boots that are waterproof, a kevlar helmet, for the inside wear, a Bf3 t-shirt, and underwear that says you suck. And maybe a drysuit if your hoppen in the river for a swim away from the bad guys.

my ideal military wear would be any gear that is optimized for stealth and infiltration. funny thing is it would look like something off of splinter cell. with a helmet or headgear equipped with nightvision. the weapons all silenced and tactical knives abound. black mess like tarps for snipers and a full on suit with upper body armor and hidden compartments with gps and laser devices used for targeting.

I was thinking a light digital woodland camo, long sleeved service style shirt. Blended woodland camo helmet, with infrared or NVG mounted and visible physical damage (realism). Black fabric gloves with the index finger cut out, MOLLE backback fitted with canteen (every soldier needs to drink), extra magazines, extra combat knife, small radio etc. Each soldier would display on the vest various grenades and magazines, some personal markings (name, branch, etc) with dogtags down the neck. Heavy duty pants down to dark brown combat boots.

Add a H&K MP7A1 with a Zeiss Optical Sight, LLM01 Laser Module, and the Tailor Made MP7A1 Suppressor (It doesn't interfere with it's RoF or Accuracy. For the Tactical CQB'ers, Give 'em a Benelli M4 Semi Auto Shotgun, with Tungsten Buckshot, Brenneke Slugs, and Breaching Rounds. Add a tactical foregrip, and a Tac-light with laser-sight, and a ITL MARS laser sight. Oh, and replce the Tac-.45 Sidearm with the Sig-Sauer P250 Sidearm (Don't forget the night sights).

Blue/Grey and Blue/Black urban digital, soldier preferred boots but mobility and slip-resistance is priority. Depending on the situation, anti-reflective black parkas and quick-removable pants. Kevlar at least, but helmets again would be situational. Complete stealth is key, so caps on scopes and everything possible to suppress flash, sound, and create diversions would come before choosing any major weapons. I would assemble a team to get their job done with no fatalities, let alone sound or getting spotted. This would all cater to a night or dark building scenario, I'd rather dig a tunnel by myself than send precious lives out in the open hoping they'd be safe.

Digital multi-cam two-piece fatigues (and undergarments) with blacked out armor and ballistic masks standard. All silent clasps--no loud zippers/velcro on my uniforms--and discreet rank pins and other insignias, helmet/mask integrated HUD, and some nice steel toe boots with form-fit gel pads also standard. I'd like if my soldiers fought as if nothing were holding them back, so the less to complain about the better.
Alternatively my girlfriend suggests they all wear cheshire cat hooded onesies over beefy body armor, and I have to admit it'd be one hell of a site.

Depends on what environment my troop is fighting. If it's night I obviously choose dark spec ops armor with night-vision, tactical light, access kits, helmet, ballistic knife, for weapons i'd choose something lighter such as ump-45 with suppressor, and 44. magnum revolver, it's not silent but it kick ***

I see many people posting usually 2 sometimes more, of their comments, one right after the other.. NOT a mistake.. I hope your 'chooser' filters out duplicate entries using NAME not same comment.. anyway.. Here I go..
I thought about this awhile, and I decided, my idea military garb would be some really comfy shoes, NEW cotton socks, black pants, not too loose or too tight but well fitted with pockets that are easy to access, a comfy shirt, hmm make it a light blue short sleeved, and may as well also wear a watch, with a phone built into it, BUT, not just any phone, I want it to be capable of SWITCHING to Satellite service, in case I am in an area without normal access. I also want a really comfortable chair, to sit at my desk.. see, it wasnt specified I woudl have to leave the office, just wanted to knwo what I might wear if in the military, and I figure I would like to stay back and plan things.. perhaps run it all from base, or run some unmanned devices ;)

I'd outfit my soldier with a long range sniper rifle, preferably the Barret .50 cal. and a gilly suit. The suit would be a specially modified one that has a hidden pocket for a second weapon- a Famas, folding stock, holo sight, three shot burst. The suit would also be easily removable, in case something with a better range of movement were needed. Under the suit would be some urban digital camo with plenty of spots for ammo, grenades, and some c4 for backup.

The best garb for combat depends on you environment. Personally I have a soft spot for the traditional camo pattern, the colors would just depend on the surrounding environment. However it is best to go with a digital pattern if in Urban environments. As for weapons I would carry an M4 Carbine and a Tactical Glock 22 40cal.
