How To Get the Most Out of Origin In Game

The basics of Origin In Game are simple: it’s an overlay that lets you browse the web, chat with friends, and adjust settings without leaving your actual game. With Origin In Game enabled, simply press Shift-F1 to access it, and do any of the following:

  • Access the web browser
  • Chat with friends
  • Invite friends into or join friends in a multiplayer session
  • Receive notifications
  • Display a profile
  • Browse the Origin Store
  • Show Origin help

Don’t have Origin in Game enabled? For all games available and played through Origin, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Origin and log into your EA Account.
  2. Click on the Origin menu and select Application Settings from the drop down menu.
  3. Click on the Origin In Game tab on the left to display the Origin In Game options.
  4. Check the box next to "Enable Origin In Game".

With Origin In Game enabled you could be playing Medal of Honor Warfighter while a buddy is busy with a race in Need for Speed Most Wanted; and you both could still exchange tips and strategies in your respective games. With the full web browser built-in to Origin In Game, you can check the score of your favorite sports team’s current game, or check in on what people are up to on Facebook (which is helpful for downtime moments such as waiting for a multiplayer session to start).

At the moment, we’ve optimized Origin In Game for many EA games, and it should still generally work with most other games in your library. There are a few rare instances where Origin In Game conflicts with a game’s built-in menu, and in those cases the game’s menus are the default. But Origin In Game is your go-to for most games on Origin.
