“Zero Dark Thirty”—military-speak for “12:30AM”—is the title of an upcoming movie about the decade-long hunt for Osama Bin Laden (by the Oscar winning director-and-screenwriter team behind 2008’s The Hurt Locker). It’s also the name of the newest map pack for Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
Releasing this week to coincide with the limited engagement of the film, the map pack provides players with additional map/mode combinations, six new weapon configurations, 14 new weapon camos, and the two new levels described below. Just like the rest of the game, the Zero Dark Thirty map pack is dedicated to have players step into the boots of the most elite operatives and explore locations that such elite soldiers tread.
Darra: This map is likely based on the town of Darra Adam Khel—a town in Pakistan dedicated to the craft and distribution of firearms. With a single main street lined with peddlers and gun manufacturing workshops, Darra is widely accepted as the largest firearms black market in the world. With an emphasis on back-alleys and stalls, this map is for players who prefer vertical combat in an urban setting.
Chitral: While Bin Laden was ultimately found in a compound in Abbottabad, this map depicts one of several possible outposts that he could have used while evading authorities. In gameplay, the level also features some helicopter wreckage, and focuses on portraying mountainous terrain filled with deep narrow valleys.
The Zero Dark Thirty map pack is now available on all platforms—Origin, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360—for $9.99. If you’ve already purchased either the Limited Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition of Medal of Honor Warfighter, then this bonus map pack is yours at zero cost.
