The film trilogy and classic Tolkien fantasy saga upon which it’s based gets a clever and cheeky revisit from the folks at LEGO. If you’ve played a LEGO game before, you know what to expect: fun, light gameplay, tons of quests, treasures to find and a healthy dose of goofy humor. As you follow the exploits of the hobbit, Frodo and his friends—there are more than 30 characters to unlock and play—you’ll explore the open world of Middle-earth with all the landmarks and moments from the films built out of dotted plastic blocks. There’s a lot of epic battling to be done and you can craft magic items from the saga, such as the elven rope, to help you on your journey. The co-op option—which allows you to fight alongside friends or family—and the lighter, kid-friendly LEGO tone makes LEGO Lord of the Rings a great game for younger gamers.
